George Morrison, a businessman and Canadian immigrant, officially platted Morrison in 1874. He not only contributed to the development of the town but to many other towns in the area. The Bear Creek Lake is a popular fishing spot attracting anglers from around town. Visitors also camp in the 47-site campground. The campsite is well-maintained and even accepts reservations, so you can pre-book the spot you like. You can also visit Evergreen Lake and Chatfield Lake, which are just a short drive away. 

The Red Rock Park and Amphitheater is another major tourist attraction in town. The Amphitheater overlooks Denver city and seats around 9,500 people. In fact, an even larger amount of people make their way to town to enjoy one of the concerts or other arts performances hosted at the Amphitheater.
